The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news.  It is the good news that there is a Creator God who knows you and cares about you.  It is the good news that you are accepted and judged good enough because of what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross.  It is the good news that your life has a purpose.  It is the good news that there is a life after this life.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news, and this world could use some good news.

This world could use good news, but before you can share good news, you have to be good news.  Your heart needs to be in the right place.  You need to treat others with respect.  When you tell them about grace, you have to be gracious.  Your motivation for sharing Jesus has to be their best interest, not your own desire to feel important.  If someone is hungry or otherwise in need, you have to be willing to help them.  You can’t merely tell them, “Have faith” and move on.  If you want to share good news, you have to be good news.

In our sermon this Sunday, we will look at the story of Jesus sending out his disciples and talk about how if you want to share good news, you have to be good news.
