The greatness of God’s grace helps us in three areas of our lives: our past, our present, and our future.

Grace helps us with our past.  Everyone has a past.  Everyone has a history.  We all have done things we wish we had not done.  We all have been in situations that we would handle differently if we had the opportunity.  Grace sets us free from the past and allows us to have a future that is different.

Grace helps us with the present day.  We devote a lot of our attention and energy to justifying our existence.  As a result, we miss opportunities that the present day offers.  We miss the beauty of God’s creation.  We overlook the struggles of people around us.  Grace justifies us and frees us to live fully in the present day.

Grace helps us with the future.  It is God’s grace, not our own wisdom and preparation, that secures our future.  As the saying goes, “I know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”

In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about the greatness of grace.
