It is ironic. We can do more in less time than any people in history, yet we feel pressed for time. So we look to the Bible, especially the Book of Ecclesiastes, for what to do when we are worried about not having enough time.
The first thing we learn is that there is not, in fact, enough time. We are all going to run out of time. God designed the world that way. God limited our time to humble us and teach us that God is sovereign and we are not.
The second thing we learn is that while there is not enough time, there is enough time for the things we are supposed to do. Successful people are focused people. God did not give us enough time to do everything, but he did give us enough time to do what he meant us to do.
The third thing we learn is that we should enjoy the time we do have. We don’t want to get so distraught over our lack of time, or so frantic trying to squeeze in as much as possible, that we miss the present moment. Rather than worrying about the future, and how much time we have left, we should pay attention to the blessings God had given us today.
In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about being worried about not having enough time.
