Is it going to be a good Christmas for you? It will depend upon two factors. One factor is what you consider to be a good Christmas. The other factor is what may be going on in your life at the moment. If there is a lot of uncertainty going on, you may find it difficult to have a good Christmas. Here are three thoughts to help you:
The first thought is that it is okay not to know. You can still have a good Christmas even when you do not know how events are going to unfold in the days and weeks and months to follow. The essence of faith is to move forward even when the future is unclear. We plan as much as possible, but we cannot know the outcome for certain. It is okay not to know.
The second though is that we can believe God’s word. God has promised to protect and provide for us. We do well to believe God, not our doubts. We can learn to believe God’s word and have a good Christmas, even when we are apprehensive about the days ahead.
The third thought is that we can say “yes” to God. If we can say “yes” to God and his call upon his life, if we know that we are in his will and that we are part of what God is doing in the world, then it can be a good Christmas even if it doesn’t happen exactly the way we would like it to happen. Let God use you this season. It will be a good Christmas.
