Whatever kind of business you want to build, from a neighborhood lemonade stand to a multi-national corporation, the longevity of your enterprise is contingent upon building with integrity.
Jesus often used the image of the steward in the stories he told. A steward managed the master’s properties. Stewards had a fair amount of authority, but they were not free to do whatever they wanted. In like manner, if you start an organization, you cannot do whatever you want. You have to act with integrity.
The Bible tells us repeatedly that one of the characteristics of God is his faithfulness. Successful business people are faithful as well. They consistently hold themselves to the highest ethical standards. They are honest and reliable. They practice what Gary Keller calls “the monotony of success.”
Successful business people also know that they have to be faithful in the little things. Success doesn’t come through one majestic, heroic act. Success comes through doing a lot of little things the right way.
In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about building on integrity.
