Anything we hope to accomplish involves some degree of risk.  The Bible gives us instruction on how we can tolerate the inevitable risks we will encounter.

We can tolerate risk if we understand our work is a mission from God.  We are part of God’s larger plan.  If we think we work for ourselves alone, it is easy to walk away when we meet opposition.  We can handle risk when we know we are on a mission.

We can tolerate risk when we understand that failure is formation.  No matter how prepared we are, something is sure to go wrong.  Failures are lessons that teach us how to do better on the next try.  As the saying goes, sometimes you win and sometimes you learn.

We can tolerate risk when we stay grounded in God’s word.  The most successful entrepreneurs read the Bible every day.  Staying in the word helps you evaluate all the other information you will receive.

We can tolerate risk when we understand that God goes with us.  If we are in God’s will, then moving forward is safer than hanging back.  In other words, it can be riskier to take a risk than to avoid the risk.

This Sunday we will continue our series, “Built to Flourish; Foundations for Entrepreneurs” with a message, “Risk Management.”
