Freedom from sin is one of the main stories in the Bible.  We talk about freedom from sin because sin holds us back from being the people God intended us to be.

Sin can take many forms.  Your sin can be your thoughts.  Your sin can be the evil you wish upon people or the help you withhold from people.  Your sin can be big, or it can be microaggressions.  Your sin can be your addictions or your habits.  Sin can take many forms.  The common theme is that sin is a power that controls us.  We need someone to rescue us from sin.

Jesus is the one who can set us free from sin.  When we are in Christ, his power frees us from the grip of sin.  We may still sin on occasion, but no longer do we have to sin.  As the Bible says, we find ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about how we can become the people God made us to be when we are set free from sin by Jesus.
