We all want to build something that will outlast us. Whether our calling is to start a business or write a book or raise a family, we don’t want to build something that disappears as soon as we do. What are the keys to building something that will outlast us?
The first key is to get right with God. Whatever we do with our life, if we do it for the wrong reason, it will not last. If our goal is to impress people, we will wind up disappointed. The only goal that truly gives joy and lasts is to work for God’s approval. First get right with God.
The other key is to put people first. Whatever we endeavor to build, the ultimate goal is to serve people. We all have our unique interests and abilities. Our common purpose is to make the world a better place. When we devote our life to a purpose, we match our love of what we do with the needs of humanity.
In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about building something that outlasts us.
